Wagging the Tail

Wagging the Tail

Rocking the sacrum, hips, and spine is great for loosening the lower back and opening the nervous system. To practice, sit in a chair and smile to the spine. Next, like a dog wagging her tail, rock the hips left and right. As we gently rock side to side, we can feel each vertebrae open from the hips, past the kidneys, up to the heart, and to the skull.

Taoists describe the spine as having pumps that

move energy from the sexual organs to the vital organs and the brain. The energy pumps are located at the sacrum, the adrenals, and the base of the skull. Rocking the spine activates these pumps and energy spreads through the body.
