Tune In, Turn On

Tune In, Turn On

Most people are out of touch with their bodies. Many don’t know where their organs are located, what size or shape they are, or what they do for them. Even if we know about our organs intellectually, we aren’t tuning into their subtle messages to know when they’re healthy or overwhelmed by our actions.

For instance, when we have an elaborate meal, strong drinks, and a big cigar, our minds say it was a great time. However, our stomach and intestines are clogged up, our bladder and kidneys are over taxed, and our lungs hurt from the tobacco or ganja. We drown our body’s signals in regular indulgences and miss out on feedback that can lead to great health.

An analogy is treating your sports car like a cheap lawn mower. We have a finely tuned machine but ride it hard and don’t do routine maintenance. It’s similar to not changing the oil, filters, etc. and blaming the manufacturer when it breaks down. If you want health, clarity of mind, and longevity, have fun but have habits for health. Make celebrations a treat, not a routine.
