In addition to massaging the corners of the large intestine, the other organs can be massaged in a similar fashion. Self-massage can help balance tightness in the liver or untangle knots in the small intestine. A gentle massage of the kidneys can do wonders for one’s well-being.

Slapping the back of the knee helps to move the toxins that gather there. The back of the knee is similar to the inside of the elbow in that the joint is often bent, compromising the flow of blood, lymphatic water, and energy of the nervous system.

Holding the hands over the ears and turning left to right is a great practice for loosening the spine. Stuck energy and emotional patterns can cling to the spine and the hot, yang energy flowing or stuck there.

Self-massage can be performed on any of the 700-plus acupressure points of the body or the many other miscellaneous points that were found after the regular pressure points were codified.
