A powerful visualization technique, and one I did during a breakthrough time in my life, is to sit down and for half an hour each morning and write three pages of what an ideal life looks like.
For me, it was followed by a major breakthrough in my career area. I wrote pages on my ideal scenario in the present tense as if it’s already happened, that I had achieved the goal that I wanted.
Another step, is to convince the subconscious mind through autosuggestion. Autosuggestion is this idea of repeating beliefs, repeating things that you want, so that your subconscious believes it.
This creates a dissonance between your waking mind and your subconscious mind. If you say you’re healthy and your logical, conscious mind doesn’t believe it, but your subconscious believes it; then it creates a tension.
The conscious and subconscious start to work together to create what your subconscious is being told through that autosuggestion. We can do this through picture, words and phrases that you repeat to yourself, or acting out a desired future—for instance walking across the stage of the place where you’ll receive your diploma when you graduate.
