Healing Tao Basics 10/20-10/21
Saturday 12:00 – 6:00 pm, Sunday 9:00 – 1:00 pm

The Inner Smile: Learn an overview of the Inner Smile meditation. This includes metaphors that explain the theory as well as an overview of the practice. Benefits include inner quiet, peace, calm, and increased awareness. Students will learn to feel and move energy through the major organs of the body. Tuning into the heart, lungs, liver, spleen, and kidneys allows us to notice good or bad states of energy in the organs. That awareness allows one to improve the functioning of the organs.

The Six Healing Sounds: The introductory breathing exercise of the Six Healing Sounds exercise teaches the theory and practice behind these exceptional breathing exercises. Students will learn how to feel and release trapped, stuck, and stagnant energy in the major organ systems of the body.  The students are guided through moving and standing postures. A standing version of the Six Healing Sounds is taught to allow students, along with arm movements and body positions that facilitate the releasing aspects of the healing exhalations.

The Microcosmic Orbit. This ancient Taoist exercise was a long-kept secret from the general public. Fortunately today, this wonderful practice is easily accessible to nearly anyone with access to the internet. This meditation connects the two major energy channels in the body that run up the spine and down the center line of the torso. The class shows the viewer how to balance the energy in these channels. The theory and benefits of the microcosmic orbit are explained. Students learn the points of the microcosmic orbit, how to safely circulate and balance energy, and the best way to store the energy to safely nourish the vital organs of the body.

Basic Chi Kung: These gentle, slow-moving practices are simple and provide a foundation for overall health and well-being. They are still very profound and their effects can be enough to stave off chronic disease, when combined with proper diet.  One can revive an inner awareness of the energy in the body and can guide one in the direction of contentment. They help open the body and strengthen muscles, joints, tendons, the nervous system, and energy channels that are the basic infrastructure upon which the energy body is built.
