Tao Te Ching #26. Maintain Your Center
Find your center of gravity
And you will find lightness. Find serenity and you will notice Restlessness before it sets in.
You can travel all day,
Without losing the center of your being. The sites, no matter how beautiful, Don’t have to pull you away
From your inner awareness.
Many rush around the city,
Chasing this task and that.
To flit about in this manner
Takes away one’s center of gravity.
To chase temporal pleasures leads to restlessness. Maintain a strong return address
In the center of your being.
Tao te Ching# 25. Far Away Means Returning
What was present before
The creation of all things? Still, silent, unchanging;
It was the Mother of all things.
I don’t know its name, So I will call it Tao. Tao means great. Great means far.
Far means far away.
Far away means returning.
The sage can follow
This pattern inside himself, And thus return to the Tao.
