Why Taoism?
Taoism is a practice of studying and living the pattern of nature, within and without the body. It is a system of knowledge that has been passed down for thousands of years. Taoists have been refining deep meditative practices by living in an intimate relationship with the universe and nature, often in remote and isolated places.
Through a process of self-awareness and personal development, Taoists hope to realize and actualize themselves. Within the physical body, the energy body is strengthened and grows to help one return to one’s original nature, which is health, joy, and freedom.
The Taoist wisdom tradition states that any spiritual advancement needs to be well rooted in a connection to the earth. Thus, in the Taoist view, progress occurs only to the extent that the practitioner is grounded. Taoist practice helps one lead a fulfilling life, grow spiritually, help others, and realize a sense of purpose—even in everyday activities.
