In western civilization, it is common to burn out the natural processes of the body. The glands of the brain get worn out during the day. Stress and emotional energy strain the organs and make the nervous system on-edge.
At night, when the body can recover from the daytime mini-traumas, the damage continues. By eating late and exposure to artificial light, the body continues to be under stress. Excess sexual activity adds to the strain and the body tends to burn out over time.
To reverse this, we can start to find a more natural rhythm to life. If we start to rest more, the body can repair itself during sleep. In the darkness, our endocrine system begins to reset and our health can return. When it’s not under constant pressure, the immune system will increase its function.
